District 4 Recap - April 17, 2018

POMA District 4 members gathered at Isabella Restaurant in Wilkes-Barre on April 17th to discuss changes in diabetes treatments. Recaredo Berbano, Jr., MD led an interactive discussion on A1C levels and various treatment options. The group shared their own stories and discussed best practices.

After the lecture, Darlene Dunay, DO, District 4 chair, opened the business meeting and discussed a few upcoming events and possible new resources from POMA that can be implemented at the district level. Jason Leeper, POMA Program Manager, demonstrated the new CME module and discussed the upcoming POMA Clinical Assembly. William Kuprevich, DO, representing the POMA’s Committee on Legislation and Public Policy, updated the group on various issues around the Harrisburg Capitol. He specifically updated the group on the few CRNP bills that are working their way through the legislative process. He strongly encouraged all the members present to take action by contacting their local representation.

The group left energized and they are looking forward to their next meeting during the POMA Clinical Assembly on Wed. May 2.
