About the POMA Foundation 

The Pennsylvania Osteopathic Medical Association Foundation (POMAF) is the philanthropic arm of the Pennsylvania Osteopathic Medical Association.

The Foundation supports POMA CME programs, partners with the PIAA to support safe youth sports, and awards significant funds to osteopathic medical students, residents, physicians and others through its grants and scholarships.

In 2025, the Foundation:

  • Provided white coats and stethoscopes to more than 800 first-year osteopathic medical students in Pennsylvania.
  • Awarded over $38,000 in scholarships to 10 outstanding students and residents.
  • Distributed 1,100 Sketchy subscriptions worth more than $335,000 to medical students.
  • Supported 51 residency programs with $25,500 in Resident Wellness Grants to promote well-being and combat burnout.
  • Funded 7 innovative projects through the Bright Ideas Grant Program, totaling more than $21,000.

Purpose
The POMA Foundation has been established to provide continuing medical education to POMA members, other physicians, and other individuals; and to promote the public health by the collection and dissemination of osteopathic medical knowledge for the education and improvement of the osteopathic profession and for the benefit of humanity.
