District 5 Recap - November 21, 2019

POMA District 5 gathered for their bi-annual meeting on November 21, 2019 at the First Post Restaurant in York.  After some fellowship over appetizers, the group learned about ways to reduce cardiovascular risk in their patients.

Following the presentation, District Chair Carol St. George, DO provided insights on the happenings at POMA.  Members also received legislative and regulatory updates regarding telemedicine, prior authorization, and POMA’s work on scope of practice issues.  POFPS President Deanne Endy, DO, provided an update on the work and goals of the POFPS and highlighted the bring a buddy membership program, upcoming trustee elections and their yearly symposium.

The district’s next meeting will be in Spring 2020 in York where elections will be held for delegates and alternates to the POMA House.
