Stethoscope & White Coat CeremoniesEach year, Pennsylvania's Osteopathic Medical Colleges host stethoscope and white coat ceremonies for their first-year osteopathic medical students. These ceremonies are an important step in an osteopathic student's career as they represent each student’s entrance into the osteopathic profession and establish a psychological contract that stresses the importance of compassionate care for the patient and professionalism, as well as scientific proficiency. POMA is proud to provide the white coats to students at the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine (PCOM) and the Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine (LECOM). Additionally, the stethoscopes are provided to the students by the Pennsylvania Osteopathic Medical Association Foundation (POMAF) and the Advocates for the Pennsylvania Osteopathic Medical Association (APOMA). We are proud to present you with these symbols of the trust between doctor and patient, of compassion, and of the purity of the medical profession’s purpose. 2020 Stethoscope & White Coat Ceremony DatesPCOM LECOM - Erie Campus LECOM - Seton Hill Littmann StethoscopesFirst-year osteopathic medical students in Pennsylvania receive a Littmann Stethoscope during their ceremony.
