Results/Outcome Survey
1. What was the general understanding of the purpose of the project/program by participants?

It was our understanding that this contribution would benefit the wellbeing of all residents. In the stressful setting of residency, the ability to have our own space to focus on our personal wellness will improve physician burn out.

2. During the project/program, what tangible tools or strategies were demonstrated or taught (i.e, coping skills for wellness and life balance)

We created work out routines for weightlifting and our stationary bike exercise that multiple residents use daily. The practice of taking time for ourselves will help improve our resilience.

3. What word(s) best describes how you feel when you are experiencing stress or well-being imbalance?

Words to describe this are hopelessness and emptiness.

4. What suggestions do you have to increase the probability of success for the project/program for other institutions?

Changing the due date to the second half of the academic year. Interns will be more familiar with residency demands and can contribute ideas. Seniors may have more time to make submissions.

5. What do you intend to do, upon returning to work, that you learned and practiced during the activity, that will improve your response to stressful situations?

During the northeast winters and with COVID, we are limited in gym availability. With the gym on premise, it has taught us that even at work we have a space to decompress. Activity is important, be it at our gym or anywhere else. Like we prioritize our patients we should prioritize our own health.
