Results/Outcome Survey
1. What was the general understanding of the purpose of the project/program by participants?

The general understanding of the purpose of this project was to come together as a residency program to cheer for the Pittsburgh Penguins at their home game on 1/28/2023. This was meant to be a way to bond in support of Penguins, while also providing  a way to de-stress together outside of the hospital to have fun. Our residency program strives to provide residents with activities that promote a good work-life balance.

2. During the project/program, what tangible tools or strategies were demonstrated or taught (i.e, coping skills for wellness and life balance)

Many of the individuals were in our UPMC Horizon group had never been to a hockey game before this event. We had more seasoned individuals that explained the rules so we could better cheer on the team. Some of us rode together, but others drove separate and so we had to make a plan for coordinating us all getting to the game successfully. This naturally allowed us to problem solve effectively as a group. Any "hiccups" along the way were addressed together and made the event one to remember.

Unfortunately, the Penguins did lose this game, which gave us an opportunity to overcome disappointment. We did so together and talked about all of the high points in the game and how much fun we had together. So, in our opinion, it was "a win" or a successful wellness event.
