.....resident mental health, demonstrating you can find time to do enjoyable things. The group learned how to pick up each other like a 7-10 split.
1. What was the general understanding of the purpose of the project by participants? Participants generally understood the project’s aim was to foster camaraderie among both residents and faculty. The goal was to create an environment conducive to building connections and promoting bonding through a shared, fun activity.
2. Why did you choose the specific wellness project/activity? I believe it was chosen because the faculty thought it would be universally enjoyable and relatable for everyone involved, meeting the residents expressed interest in bowling, while also giving us the opportunity to be active and engage in teamwork.
3. During the project, what tangible tools were demonstrated or taught to address wellness or life balance? The experience demonstrated the value of relaxation, participation in fun group activities and social interaction as integral components of overall wellness. It effectively highlighted the concept of social wellness as an essential component of achieving life balance.
4. What do you intend to do upon returning to work that you learned and practiced during the activity that will improve your response to stressful situations? Upon returning to work, the residents plan to take moments to engage in enjoyable activities whenever faced with stressful situations. This could involve any activity, no matter how small, that brings them joy and relaxation. Sometimes, all we need to do is slow down, take a break and then feel refreshed.
5. What can POMA do to address wellness and life balance for our future? Residency can be challenging but knowing that POMA is committed to promoting well-being through financial support for focused wellness activities is reassuring. By investing in wellness activities, POMA is sending a positive message about the importance of self-care, specifically among residents. |
