Jefferson Health Northeast Emergency Medicine - Grow Where You're Planted  05.30.24

1. What was the general understanding of the purpose of the project/program by participants?
This event was an opportunity to bond with other co-residents with dinner and crafts (painting pots + potting plants) and discussing resilience in the midst of residency while also spending time learning about and discussing various environmentally conscious practices.

2. Why did you choose the specific wellness project/activity?
We have many co-residents who have major green thumbs and wanted to create a simple event that was low-energy so people could attend without pressure even after a long day of work.

3. During the project/program, what tangible tools or strategies were demonstrated or taught to address wellness and life balance?
The joy of nurturing other living things (taking care of plants), thriving in residency, and environmentally conscious lifestyle changes.

4. What do you intend to do, upon returning to work, that you learned and practiced during the activity, that will improve your response to stressful situations?
I will be more mindful about my impact on the planet, and I will also have a beautiful plant to return home to even on stressful days.

5. What can POMA do to address wellness and life balance for your future?
Continue to advocate for resident wellness through grants and legislative advocacy!
